Terminator Salvation was not as bad as I thought it would be. The preview they show when we watched Star Trek was barren and unexciting that many of our gang decided not to watch but I needed to kill time on Friday nights, so I went.

It was probably because I watched after working from 6am (woke up at 4am), stayed at work after work and watched it from 7pm to 9pm. My brain has by then switched off and I was happy I didn't fall asleep.

The models of Terminator you wouldn't have seen in previous Terminators was quite cool, the Moto-terminators especially, can calculate and maneouver around obstacles provided enough time. The function of snakelike terminators were harder to figure out until you see their action in water, although their function still seem somewhat...meh.

The highlight of the movie for me was first and foremost, the slash I saw between Marcus and Kyle and I'm so glad I'm not the only one seeing it! (go to [info]kylemarcus for your needs :D) and second, Christian Bale being bashed around by badass CG-Arnold.

While they spoiled the 'twist' in the preview (Marcus is a Terminator!), I don't think that was the twist at all. You were kept uncertain during the movie whether Marcus is evil or not, he seems like a good guy, but you're kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Not to mention the 'radio signal' that the resistance discovered, that wasn't at all what they thought it was. Although honestly, radio signal? Why don't someone just create an EMP-based device already!

I was half-expecting to see Horatio!John seeing he was the 'sole survivor' of the mayhem that was the beginning of the movie, and I was glad to be proven wrong.

And vote for Survival of the Hottest 'Ship!
